Paleo Apple Pie bar
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees and line an 11 'x 7''glass pan lined with parchment paper.
For the Crust
  1. In a medium mixing bowl add in all dry ingredients for the crust. Set aside.
  2. Using a standing mixer, blend on Medium, almond butter, vanilla, syrup, palm shortening. Blend until smooth. Add the dry ingredients and blend again until the dough is crumbly.
  3. Using 1/2 the mixture spread the dough evenly into the prepared glass dish. Press until nice and firm. Bake 10 minutes.
Apple Filling
  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat combine apples, lemon juice, water. Bring to a boil. Cook until apples are firm but soft.
  2. In a small bowl add in the sugar, arrowroot starch, cinnamon, sea salt. Add in the apples and toss to thicken.
  3. Top with the remaining crumb crust.
  4. Add the apple mixture over the crust and bake for 25 minutes. Remove and let cool.
  5. Keep refrigerated and allow to firm.
